Some of my favorites insist on being really delicate, like these fine floaty silk pants that were fine for years but now keep trying to give up the ghost. So I keep underpatching. With the same batch of Indian marbled silk scarves I used on the unaccountably beloved tee, used in double thickness, and sashiko-ed and/or exed in place. The knee came first and I did it properly, cutting the hole and fitting the patch, then I got lazy and left the rips raw. Not sure how long we can go on like this.
