"I’m joined by Maresa, the owner of Dusty Rose Vintage and Gold Dust Projects. Maresa has two decades of experience in the vintage and secondhand garment space. She began her career in the Urban Outfitters’ vintage and reconstructed clothing department, then transitioned to build wholesale vintage operations at two of the largest textile recyclers on the East Coast. She then went on to found Dusty Rose Vintage and her events brand, Gold Dust Projects, where she’s sold vintage, hosted markets, and produced circularity and sustainability focused events.
And also Kate Sekules, a vintage lover and visible mender, and the author of MEND! A Refashioning Manual and Manifesto. Kate is truly a mending historian — she’s currently doing a PHd in design history, material culture and mending.
At this show, we got into their stories with vintage and secondhand, talked about how the secondhand space has changed and evolved, and imagined potential futures for the world of secondhand fashion. PLUS, you get to hear some really fun stories about digging through the bargain bins and their fave vintage finds. This is a really exciting one, so let’s get into – let’s dive right into the show!..."
